Jag's Career

Jag Nagendra's journey from Bangalore, India, to becoming a prominent transformational leader in the United States is a story of relentless ambition, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence.

Born and raised in Bangalore, India, Jag's early years were marked by a fascination with technology and a drive to understand complex systems. This passion led him to pursue a Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from S J Polytechnic, Bangalore, India, in 1989. Armed with his education, Jag began his career as a Project Engineer at Cotmac Private Limited & later at Control Engineers. Here, he gained invaluable experience working on automation and control system projects, setting the stage for his future endeavors.

In 1994, Jag founded Cimtech Automation Private Limited, an engineering system integration company aimed at serving the automation and control market. As the Managing Director, he crafted the company's vision and mission statements, developed strategic business plans, and led over 20 employees. Under his leadership, the company managed projects across various industry sectors, including co-generation thermal power plants, water treatment plants, steel plants, and hydro-electric power plants. Jag's keen business acumen ensured consistent profits and efficient management of the company's finances and operations.

Jag's career took a significant leap forward when he moved to the United States, where he continued to expand his expertise and influence. From 2000 to 2003, he worked at CH2M Hill, Inc., designing and developing pump optimization control concepts for wastewater treatment plants. His innovative algorithms and control systems greatly enhanced operational efficiency and energy use.

In the following years, from 2003 to 2010, Jag held various leadership positions, including Program Manager at Meyer Control Corporation and FluidIQs/Glenmount Global Solutions. His roles involved managing engineering activities, project management, and strategic planning. His leadership was instrumental in upgrading control systems at multiple facilities, in Northern California, improving operational functionality, and driving organizational growth.

Jag's dedication to public service became evident when he joined the California State Department in 2012. Over the next decade, he held several key positions, including Senior Control Engineer, Supervising Control Engineer, and Principal Hydroelectric Power Utility Engineer. He led teams of engineers and IT professionals, overseeing projects that ensured reliable and efficient systems for water and power dispatching across California. His efforts were crucial in maintaining the state's critical infrastructure and enhancing its operational capabilities.

Throughout his illustrious career, Jag has earned numerous certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP) and Change Management Professional. He is recognized for his expertise in project and program management, organizational leadership, change management, and strategic communication.
